How was the Egyptian society organized? The Egyptian society was organized by classes. The pharaoh was of course at the top because he was the leader and the most well respected. The priests were next because the gods were worshiped insanely well and the priests technically represented them. Scribes, tradesman, and artisans were next because they had jobs that required a certain amount of skill to complete and they were the middle class. Farmers were next because it did not require any mental ability to farm and almost anyone could farm. Unskilled workers were last because they were useless. If you could be anyone in ancient Egypt, except the Pharaoh, who would you choose to be? Explain the reasons for your choice. Also be sure to include advantages and disadvantages of your social position choice. I would prefer to be the priest. I would want to be the priest because they are second on the social class and are probably very well respected. An advantage of being a priest would be that they are well respected and have great honor. They would represent the gods. A disadvantage would be that if the crops did not grow, the priest would be blamed because the god that represents the river would have failed. Therefore, the priest would be blamed. Overall, I believe that the priest would be a relaxing and not very stressful job. 1: Navigation and Ship building
